Grandma
$1,500.00
24 x 48 Acrylic on Canvas
My memories of my grandmother are simple, but they stay with me.
She was always doing something. Cooking. Working. Tending to the farm. With so many grandchildren around, I do not remember long talks. I remember movement.
In this painting, she stands beside a butter churn, steady and focused. Her hands grip the handle with purpose. This was everyday life for her. No spotlight. No praise. Just responsibility carried with care.
I was around twelve when she passed, too young to understand how much those small memories would matter later. What returns to me now are the details. The steady rhythm of the churn turning fresh cream into butter. The rich smell filled the kitchen. The fried chicken she prepared from the very birds she raised, crisp and golden, was made only the way she knew how.
The chickens at her feet anchor the scene in that full circle of farm life. Hard work that fed a family. The darker tones allow her figure to stand forward, steady, and present.
This piece captures more than a moment. It honors a woman whose love was shown in what she did each day.
