Waiting in the Rain
$450.00
36 x 36 Acrylic on Canvas
I have always been drawn to moments that feel unfinished.
This painting shows a young girl standing alone as rain begins to fall. She holds an umbrella above her, her figure small against a wide sweep of color. The ground beneath her reflects the sky, creating a soft mirror of blues and glowing yellow.
She is waiting.
For family. For a friend. For a ride. Or maybe for something larger that cannot be named.
Rain changes everything. It softens sound and slows time. In that stillness, thoughts grow louder. The cool blue tones suggest uncertainty, while the warm yellow pushes forward with quiet hope. She stands between storm and light.
There is strength in her posture. She does not run. She remains steady.
When I look at this piece, I find myself wondering where she is now. Did someone arrive? Did the rain pass? Or did she simply grow through that moment of waiting?
“Waiting in the Rain” reflects life’s in-between spaces, when we pause, uncertain, yet quietly becoming.
