30 x 40 Acrylic on Canvas

This painting began with a road trip.

Marfa, Texas, is known for its art, and along Highway 90 stands the unexpected Prada installation in nearby Valentine. A high-fashion storefront is placed in the middle of a wide-open desert. It is playful. It is ironic. It is iconic.

When I visited the site, I was the only visitor in that isolated part of Texas against the bright West Texas sky, one image came instantly to mind in that deserted highway. The Beatles crossing Abbey Road.

The connection felt natural. My formative years were shaped in the 60s, and that album cover remains one of the most recognizable images in music history. Seeing Prada isolated against open land felt like a modern stage waiting for a familiar crossing.

The Prada building stands still in the background, framed by a vast sky filled with movement and light. The desert stretches endlessly on both sides, grounding the scene in Texas while the composition nods to London.

At 30 x 40 inches, the canvas allows space for both humor and homage. The painting is not about fashion alone. It is about memory, culture, and the way art can spark personal associations.
